Q: What is lifestyle family photography?
A: This style of photography is simply you, your family, in your space, enjoying that which makes you happy. It's taking the overly formal portrait and forced poses out a photography session and instead taking the time to capture you honestly, in all that you love. I will visit with you, laugh with you, and cuddle your children all the while capturing the real engagements among you and your family.
Q: What should we wear?
A: Clothes are an amazing opportunity to add story to your images. Overall, I want you to be yourselves and I am happy to go over your clothing options in our consultation.
Q: How long will this session last?
A: Generally 45 minutes or so. It's common to take a little snack break in the middle to give the littles a break to refuel, so that's something I encourage my parents to bring with them.
Q: How far in advance should I book?
A: Most seasons I am booked 4-6 weeks out, so it's aways a good idea for allow for at least 4 weeks. For the Holidays, I start booking in the summer, so while it's still hot and sunny, book those fall shoots!
Q: how old should my newborn be for the session?
A: Newborn sessions are best done between 7 - 21 days of birth. I ask that my clients contact me within three days after baby is born, so I can get you on my schedule.
Q: What is your style of newborn photography?
A: I love to work with natural light, without an abundance of props. I do not use any un-natural poses or forced poses with baby. Hence creating a natural, timeless look.
Q: WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
A: I use a Canon EOS 3 film camera with a 50mm lens. And I always carry the Canon 5d mark iii, 50 mm lens, and 24 - 70 mm.
Q: ARE THE PEOPLE ON YOUR SITE MODELS?
A: Haha! While I'm lucky enough to work with gorgeous couples, the images shown on my site and blog are of regular, paying clients.
Q: HOW DO WE RESERVE OUR session DATE?
A: A 50% deposit and signed contract is required in order to get your session day on the calendar. Two weeks prior to your session, the remainder of the balance is due.
